My family has some health issues that require us to have hospital-grade indoor air quality. Our home had some design flaws that were causing mold in our HVAC system. Dan was the only person I trusted to fix the issue. He worked with Judy Rachel to do a Manual J/S/D to properly design a system that included Heating, AC, whole house air filter, and HRV, and recommended air sealing and insulation changes to keep the system functioning the way it should. His crew worked for 6 weeks straight to meticulously install the system without disrupting our lives or creating dust or fumes. Our air quality issue is resolved, our CO2 levels are where they should be, our house is so much more comfortable, and I expect our power bills to be greatly reduced. I want to report that we experienced at least a 5-8 degree drop in temperature in the main part of the house at all times of the day due to the new insulation. It also appears that a similar, but slightly less benefit is occurring in our bedroom, as well. It’s nice to know that we won’t have to wait until winter heating to experience a comfort benefit. Last night we were gone most of the evening and when we returned our house was pleasantly mild considering we only left a few windows open and the whole house fan in the off position. Upon our return at about 9:30 we turned on the whole house fan (to low) and was able to experience additional cooling down. Our master bedroom is still lagging behind in comfort but we will consider some of the options that you mentioned to block afternoon solar gain. Having said that, we’re pleased with the incremental improvement to our sleeping area. Thanks for your help and professional approach in working with us.
